About Us
Historically, we have acquired companies from both corporates and owner managers, whether that be as part of a divestment programme, or a retirement sale.
Typically, we look to take a large majority stake in the companies that we acquire and will incentivise incumbent management through share ownership, options or performance related bonuses.
Simon Thelwall-Jones – Partner
Simon is a “Big 4” trained chartered accountant with over 25 years’ experience of buying, selling and running companies.
Previous roles include Head of Global Strategy & M&A for a large £2bn turnover plc, several spells as Investment Director for various regional investment funds of up to £150m funds under management, with responsibility for making, monitoring and exiting venture capital investments in small and medium sized companies.
In addition, Simon has successfully undertaken various turnaround roles for venture capital funds and family offices, and has served as both part time and interim finance director for various companies, as well as holding various non-executive director/chair roles on the boards of venture capital backed companies.
Simon also sits on the boards of any investee companies purchased by Platinum Capital Partners.

Nicki Thelwall-Jones – Partner
A “Big 4” trained chartered accountant, Nicki, has over 25 years of experience of acquiring, growing and running small and medium sized B2B distribution and manufacturing companies, operating in global markets with global supply chains. Nicki has particular experience of working with Far Eastern supply bases having been travelling to the region since the early 2000s.
In addition to being a board member of any company acquired by Platinum Capital Partners, Nicki also serves as a non-executive director on the boards of third party owned companies.
